Assael shortlisted for ‘Architectural Practice of the Year’
Assael has been shortlisted for ‘Architectural Practice of the Year’ category at the prestigious 2013 Building Awards.
The celebrated annual award ceremony established by Building magazine gives recognition to the industry’s top performers. The ‘Architectural Practice of the Year’ is awarded to the practice that excelled throughout the year.
We think we are worthy winners this year; our practice grew by 25%, we continued to build on our excellent reputation and ethos of valuing and rewarding our staff. We promoted eight staff and we have seen a 100% pass rate with all students working within the practice.
Following difficult times, we continued to be a profitable company and we maintained long relationships with clients that helped bring repeat business.
In 2012, we built on our residential PRS research, which led to a number of commissions and build-to-let projects. Our skills in recycling historic and redundant buildings into residential use saw us renovate two art deco buildings; transforming Wallis House on London’s ‘Golden Mile’ to its former glory and reviving Clapham’s dilapidated Lumiere Cinema into a community church with new contemporary apartments. Plus, we forged ahead with high quality large sustainable developments in challenging environments; Renaissance in Lewisham and Great West Quarter in Brentford, along with two iconic tower buildings in London.
The winners throughout the industry will be announced at the glittering Award Ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel on April 18.
