Reimagining loft living in Battersea
Overview
Along the river in Battersea, our design combines and reconfigures two existing apartments located in Montevetro, designed by Richard Rogers, into one loft-style duplex suitable for a large family.
The design balances the client’s desire to have a luxurious space upstairs for entertaining guests, with more intimate and homely bedrooms on the lower floor. A grand hallway and staircase lead guests up to the open plan living / dining / kitchen space, which has been designed to be practical yet stylish with panoramic views of the River Thames.
The bedrooms’ design carefully balances the materiality and proportions of traditional French panelling – with parquet floors and bespoke joinery – with contemporary features, such as custom-made lighting in collaboration with a specialist designer, to complement the modern architecture of the Rogers’ building.
