Assael picks up The Sunday Times ‘Giving Something Back’ Award
We’re thrilled to have won the Giving Something Back Award at The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For last night.
Giving back to the local community is a key pillar of our practice – we donate one percent of our annual turnover to charity in both time and money, and encourage staff to spend at least one day per year volunteering or raising money during work hours. Last year we gave over 400 hours of our time and raised £31,752 for charitable causes through a myriad of donations, charitable initiatives and fundraising events such as:
Gardening and decorating for Fulham Good Neighbours Serving lunch to the local elderly at Regenerate RISE Donating to the Grenfell Tower Fire victims Running every day (R.E.D) in January for Mind Making pancakes for a communal breakfast for Childhope Baking a Gingerbread City for the Museum of Architecture Playing pool for Make-a-Wish Competing in Construction Rocks for LandAid We were also praised for our environmental initiatives including ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification, our first ‘Green Week’ in 2017, and our ‘green office’. John Assael said: “As architects, we understand the impact that we can have on the environment and our community. Our principle goal as a practice is to design projects that make the world a better place, whether that’s by engaging communities, delivering enduring and timeless designs or adding to thriving communities. I’m incredibly proud of everything we have achieved as a company and look forward to helping more people through our work and amazing community of our loyal staff.” |
