Assael team brush up on their sketching skills with life drawing lessons

Over the last eight weeks, a number of Assael staff have been perfecting their drawing techniques by taking part in ‘Life Drawing for Architects’ lessons after work.

The aim of the course provided by ‘Drawing at Work’ is to instil an increased confidence in sketching with tutors from varying artistic backgrounds visiting the studio each week

13 of our staff from all levels took part in the drawing classes funded by Assael. Each week a life class was run in the studio conference room and architects were encouraged to use a number of mediums to sketch. The general consensus was that the course gave everyone an increased confidence in sketching and has inspired them to draw more often.

Chairman, John Assael commented: “Architects need to continue to be able to draw. Often the best ideas are unlocked when sketching and this is still an integral part of the design process.”
