Assael wins Architect of the Year at The Sunday Times’ British Homes Awards 2016

Our practice has been awarded Architect of the Year for submitting the most impressive portfolio of entries, all of which demonstrated commitment to sustainable regeneration, the establishment of new communities, strong architecture design and landscaping, innovative construction methods, and environmental initiatives.

The team also received the ‘Housing Project’ award for our scheme for York Place Buildings in Battersea Square, an industrial-inspired residential development in the heart of Wandsworth. The award is granted for the most impressive scheme of houses and/or apartments with planning consent but is not more than six months into development.

The British Homes Awards play a pivotal role in providing a catalyst for change in the creation of new homes and an insight into the various developments within the industry.

The awards were sponsored by Kingspan and presented by Daniel Hopwood, former president of the British Institute of Interior Design, partner of BBC2’s Great Interior Design Challenge and founder of Studio Hopwood.
