Assael promotes a new Director to the Board

Pete Ladhams has been promoted to Director as Assael expands.

Pete Ladhams joined the practice in 2001 and has been an Associate Director since 2012; he will now join the other seven Directors on the Board.

Pete embarked on his career in Architecture at Sheffield University where he studied his Degree and Diploma and later held a diploma-level teaching position. He worked on a number of masterplanning and urban design schemes at Benoy before joining Assael Architecture.

During his time with the practice, Pete has been involved in a number of challenging and significant projects such as the award-winning Great Northern Tower in Manchester, the recently completed Macaulay Walk in Clapham Old Town as well as leading the team to win planning for two Build to Rent schemes in Central London with Grainger plc.

Pete is currently leading two developments that require a sensitive design approach; the conversion of a Grade II Listed former Carriageworks building in Bristol and a former Grade II Listed carpet factory in Stroud.

The studio, now almost 65 strong, has had its most successful year yet in terms of profit and turnover and has been busy recruiting and promoting staff. This year has already seen three members of the team becoming Associate Directors and five staff promoted to Senior Architects.
