Two students awarded the Assael Architecture Bursary fund

Each year, Assael awards a bursary to a promising architectural student from Oxford Brookes’ School of Architecture to help fund their studies. This year two students have been selected for the award.

Students Lucy Ottewell and Katie Shute are this year’s winners of the Assael Bursary, which is now in its sixth year. It awards up to £1,500 to chosen students carrying out the Diploma and Masters Courses at Oxford Brookes.

Students submit a piece of original research that is then considered by the judging panel, comprising John Assael along with The Head of School at Oxford Brookes Matt Gaskin, Programme Leader Dr Aylin Orbasli, and Lecturer Rikardo Assis Rosa.

This year the joint winners were chosen after producing an impressive research proposal on ‘Integration of private and affordable housing in the UK.’

Chairman John Assael comments, “This is a great opportunity to promote the Architects of the future. Here at Assael we have always believed in nurturing and encouraging new talent. We enjoy supporting students through important pieces of research.”
